Sandy Eldred is an internationally acclaimed bassist, recording artist, composer, and music educator living in Philadelphia, PA. Eldred is known for his inventiveness and command across music genres. He is represented by Ukrainian record label, LabelWhoAble.
Eldred is co-founder of U.S.E. Trio and Multi Mansions. He is an active member of the Bogdan Gumenyuk Quartet, the Michael Hudson-Casanova Sextet, and leader of the Sandy Eldred Trio.
Since joining Norman David and the Eleventet in 2011, he has held the bass chair for numerous Philadelphia based large ensembles including, Ian O’Beirne’s Slowbern, Jamal Jones’ Bureau of Sonic Wonderland, Matt Gallagher’s Philly Big Band, and the Earl Phillips Big Band. Eldred has also performed with the Lars Halle Jazz Orchestra, the South Philly Big Band, and Bobby Zankel and the Warriors of the Wonderful Sound, working alongside the late, Muhal Richard Abrams.
Eldred studied double bass performance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA (M.M. 2013). He is a founding member of Jazz Mission, an international educational project that helps to inspire the younger generation of musicians in Ukraine. As an educator, he offers lessons, masterclasses, and workshops. Eldred has taught students at colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, and Eastern Europe.
I have been a professional musician since age 15. I enjoy teaching others and find lessons benificial for both the studernt and the teacher. It is my hope that my students will one day posess the knowledge and abilities to perform and teach on their own.

I have a masters degree in bass performance from the University of the Arts and several years of teaching experience.

Yes. I charge 60 for 1 hour lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in college working with younger and less experienced players.

I am happy to work with students of all experience levels. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced musician, there is always something to be gained by studying with other musicians.
