Michael Newman- Cello Lessons

It is truly a pleasure studying the cello under Michaels tutelage. A graduate of the esteemed Peabody Institute, Michael has achieved a high degree of mastery over his instrument. As a cello tutor, he maintains a pleasant demeanor and positive attitude while sharing his impressive technical skills and musical knowledge with his students. I highly recommend Michael to anyone interested in developing their playing skills in a supportive environment.

Mr. Newman is one of the best music teachers weve had! My kids have had lessons at the Peabody Prep (Baltimore) and Settlement Music School (Philadelphia). Michael has been as good, if not, better than all of them. He makes classical music fun and challenging for my 13 year old; emphasizing technique and phrasing by comparing them to things that are important to my son (video games and our pet dog). He is definitely a serious teacher, focusing on details that other teachers may overlook. He expects a lot out of my son, but does so in a gentle, encouraging, and humorous way. It is also an absolute pleasure to hear him play, he is an amazing cellist!

Michael is an excellent Cello instructor. Hes been teaching my son for years and is a gifted Cellist, has an impressive background in Cello education, and experience. He is an ultimate professional, is kind, patient, enthusiastic, highly skilled, and uses effective very teaching methods. He tries to challenge my son with the Cello, and works on technique, intonation, seating position, bowing, tone, etc., as well as providing challenging pieces to improve my sons skills and help build his repertoire of music. We are very glad to have Michael as my sons private Cello instruction.

Michael is very kind and has lots of passion. My daughter is always happy and has lots of fun during lessons. Most importantly she improved a lot after one year with Michael!
