Hale Allen Art
About
I have been mentored by one of the finest artists, Jim McGinley, in oil painting and drawing. I have practiced drawing for over 30 years. I am also a landscape designer, video filmmaker, and musician. But drawing is the backbone of all that I do.
Drawing has many benefits, and strengths. I have always found an escape with drawing.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As a drawing and painting teacher, I always encourage the students, in the beginning, to get some of the foundation needed to see shapes in space, try different paper, and use the eraser as a drawing tool. The student will draw from life, and study in a classic style, until technique and inspiration take over and new directions are found. I also encourage all students to draw, draw, draw.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Tyler School of Art- teacher in Foundation drawing
