About

The choice of from whom to learn is an important one. If you're going to trust your life to someone's training, make sure it's the right someone. Most instructors teach based on theory. I teach based on real world experience, acquired over multiple deployments, while at the same time, leaving behind the boot camp attitude in favor of a more casual experience.

Students see results after even just the first lesson. There's nothing I enjoy more than seeing someone who's never touched a gun before walking away with a target full of holes right in the bullseye. I make sure lessons are exciting for me, so that they'll be exciting for you, too. That means no death-by-powerpoint, no condescension, no boring lectures. The best way to make sure students retains what they're taught is to make sure they have fun, so I make sure we all have fun, while learning to be safe and learning to hit what we aim for.

I have been shooting for a couple of years. Marcus did a great job in his class teaching me to change my technique of how I stand and how I grip. Immediate improvement in accuracy. The drills he had us do on the ground and on the move where fun and educational. Almost everyone in the lesson was less of a beginner than me and they all seemed to like the class also. I would recommend his class to anyone looking to learn new techniques. You will have a good time.

Marcus brings real world experience (been there, done that, got the t-shirt) to the table, as well as a wealth of subject matter knowledge, and just as important, the ability to cater to the needs of his students. Great class taught by an outstanding instructor.

    Marcus was great.
Very thorough about safety first. Before we even began he went through protocols if God forbid something bad happened.
Then it was training on holstering, tactical reloads vs emergency reload, aiming behind cover, cover vs concealment, etc.
It was a great experience for someone that has never done anything like this before. So learning new techniques was great.
I want to continue learning from someone that has actual experience and to gain more knowledge. Cant wait for next class.

    Frequently asked questions

For a first time shooter, I start with the five safety rules and the seven fundamentals. This is done first at your home in a classroom style setting, and then we go to the range to put everything in motion. The goals of the first lesson are to have you be safe while confidently loading, unloading, and shooting your firearm accurately.

I was trained and certified as an infantry rifleman, squad designated marksman, combat armorer, gunsmith, range safety officer, and instructor for rifles and pistols.

I've taught students ranging in age from 14 to 83. (Really, 83. And she did really well, too.) I've taught people with various handicaps. I've taught people with no experience, including those who were afraid to even touch a gun, all the way up to police and military.

And I'm ready to work with you.
