I am a local Latina Artist that concentrates on empowering our youth with culture and heritage thru The beauty of Art. I’ve workedwith the inner city youth for several years, and am currently teaching art in 4 Schools within the Trenton public school system. I love Art and believe that it’s a language we can speak without using words.
I enjoy bringing life into the eyes of the children thru Art. Showing them a language without the choice of words....just color and movement. I love to see their faces light up, when they see the possibilities....
Not a very good role model for children.
Very knowledgeable and helpful with my 6 year old who gets distracted easily. He looks forward to his class every week.
Letty ABSOLUTELY loves every aspect of her craft. She's passionate, professional, patient, creative and has a great sense of humor while doing it all. She provided great pointers and made everyone present believe their work was exceptional. She's a class act for sure.
Leticia Acevedo brings both passion, expertise, creativity and professionalism to all aspects of “Life Is A Canvas” and “Designs by Letty”. Through her classroom instructions with our youth, and young adults, she serves as an living example of someone who has pursued a path of entrepreneurship an example that is not often seen in our communities. She turned her “hustle” into a viable career. Her works of art are transformative for those women who see themselves in the visions of womanhood thAt she creates at ease. Her Zen energy is contagious, and she is a work of art...
Usually what I like to do is get to know my student...their likes, and dislikes, hobbies, etc., this helps me as far as “direction” is concerned. Afterwards, we work together, we build together, and the artistic bon is formed.
I studied Fine Arts and Childcare development for two years in Mercer County Community College. My experience is within the Inner City of Trenton NJ, as I have taught, and continue to teach Art in the community for four different locations throughout the City.

I have been an Artist all my life. Was brought up in the Art Community of Trenton NJ’s Artworks Program. I wanted to be able to give back. The Arts have been removed from a lot of our schools and I believe that it’s a necessity for children everywhere.
I have worked with Many types of students, up to and including DYFS Children, At Risk Children, and everything in between
I just opened my very first gallery....so my most receding event that i am fond of is this amazing milestone November 25th 2017
Do your research, and try to connect with them on more levels other than Art...so that when you create you can both build.
Students should be able to have some kind of idea of where they want to be artistically but be open to learning every medium in the field
