Do you want to paint or draw like a pro? I can help you discover your unique style and build your artistic skillset. I have over 25+ years of experience as a visual artist specializing in oil + acrylic painting and pencil + charcoal drawing. Since 2010, I have taught children, teens, and adults art lessons in the greater Philadelphia area.
I can introduce you to the foundation of portrait, figurative, and or landscape art techniques. I will introduce you to different painting and drawing materials and artists. I teach all levels beginner, intermediate and advanced.
I have a proven record of helping individuals build portfolios to apply and get accepted into art high schools and colleges. If you are an artist seeking to increase your exposure and marketing strategies I can help build your online presence as well as help apply for gallery exhibitions and artists in residency programs.
I studied Fine Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the University of Pennsylvania. I have my MS in Arts Administration from Drexel University.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I will hold a phone interview to gain a deeper understanding of what the student seeks to accomplish with their art practice. Then we can move forward with booking a day and time and number of lessons desired.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the University of Pennsylvania. I have an MS in Arts Administration from Drexel University.

Weekday Cost:
2-hour lessons cost $150
3-hour lessons cost $225
4-hour lesson cost $300
If you book and pay for 10 lessons in advance you will receive $25 off your total.
Weekend Cost:

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching painting and drawing in 2010 at an art center located in Philadelphia.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children ages 5-12, teens 13-19 and adults 20+. I have worked with beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I helped hang and sell student artwork that was featured in the annual Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure your teacher is confident, experienced and willing to go that extra mile to help you accomplish your goals. In addition, make sure they are friendly and listen to your needs.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Let your teacher know what you are trying to accomplish with your lessons such as refining your skills, learning new skills or needing help applying for a school or art exhibition. This will help your instructor create a path for you and help you reach our goals.
