I have a Master's in Fine Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. I have assistant taught college-level art classes.
I currently teach art to K-12 kids through the YMCA. I love drawing and painting, and I especially love figures and portraits.
I have 4 years of experience teaching art to kids of all ages, in diverse settings.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will start by assessing their drawing level, giving them charcoal and paper to do an observational drawing. Then I will move in with a few helpful tips as they work, giving suggestions and making sure to emphasize the positive aspects of their performance. Finally, we'll go over the entire drawing again, and make observational corrections. Then we can begin to paint!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually start at $40 per lesson for adults and $35 per lesson for children. I am willing to negotiate a discount for students on a case-by-case basis.
