Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have yet to teach any students, but first I would assess their skill level and have them show me work that speaks to them. Figure out why they like it, and if they want to capture something similar. Once we learn basics I would help them apply that knowledge into creating the kinds of images they want to create.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been photographing since I was around 12. I've almost always had a camera in hand. Naturally I took four years of photography classes throughout high school, learning the basics of both digital and analog photography.
I attended the New Hampshire Institute of Art and graduated with a BFA in photography.
I currently work as a digital asset manager for a world renowned photography. While pursuing my own personal photography on the side.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The basic lessons start at 25/hr. This is an in the field, hands on lesson where I walk through camera controls and basic shooting knowledge.
The prices go up depending on equipment costs such as developing film, etc.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a passion for photography and have always wanted to instill the passion in others.
