What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I do an initial meet and greet and talk about what they're working on in school and what they think they are struggling with, the the next session I give them practice problems and senarios depending on the topic we're studying.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an Honors student in high school and have taken multiple AP and Honors courses. I have over 3 years of solid tutoring experience and have worked closely with children and in learning environments before.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20/hr for general learning sessions, $20-$30/hr if we are working on a larger project, presentation, reviewing and editing papers, etc.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring younger kids in the 6th grade and have been tutoring both younger children and my peers since then.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with lots of students of all ages and backgrounds. I have also tutored some with ADHD or ADD, I am open to tutoring people of all ages and backgrounds and will do so to the best of my ability.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who understands your style of learning and it able to build lessons and practices around that.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Try to figure out specifically what it is that you're having trouble with, the rest is up to the teacher.
