I really enjoy teaching and passing on what I have learned from some of the greatest masters of the classical guitar. I love when a student takes their practice seriously and progresses quickly, but I also enjoy it when a student gradually masters a new technique or musical concept. It is truly a gift to see someone who really wants to learn, give it their all and accomplish their goals.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have mostly worked with beggining and intermediate students. I have also worked with advanced classical guitarists.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The only way to improve is to practice everyday and go beyond what your teacher prepares for you every week. Try several different styles of guitar playing, and read as many guitar books as you can. Guitar is a tough instrument to learn and can take a significant amount of time to learn. Patience is key to learning this instrument.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know what styles of music you are interested in. Know if you are committed enough to practice at least an hour a day. You should come to your lesson with a guitar. If you are an intermeddiate player, please come prepared to every lesson (first and last) with a piece to play. This will allow your teacher to gauge your ability and improve your technique and musicality. If you are an intermeddiate player, think about what you want to accomplish (auditoning for a conservatory or music school, forming a band, solo performance, etc.)
