About
Hey! My name is Brandi. I can help you understand the fundementals of color theory and how they can imact an image. I specialize in gouache painting but am also proficient in acrylic painting as well. My style is based on bright, vibrant colors and lose paint strokes. I'm happy to pass on my art knowledge in any way I can. I've been painting for 12 years and have tutoring experience. If you are interested in improving your painting tecnique, compossions, understructures, mood, lighting, and many other art principles, I am the right instructor for you.

Art, in any form, is supposed to be enjoyable, even the pieces based in negativity or darker ideations. The process, itself, should be at least some form of theraputic. If you are creating out of neccessity or obligation, the end result is extremely different than that of something created from enjoyment. I love the journey even if the outcome is not what I expected.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson we discuss their personal goals with art, whether that be improving technique, trying different art processes, or to just to have a fun painting partner. Whatever they want to achieve, that's what the further lessons will be based on. With the remaining time I like to do a painting exercise to evaluate the level the student is already at.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been painting since I was a child. I did a couple murals when I was a teenager than moved on to digital art when I went to college. I have a BA in Media Arts and Animation. Yes, my degree isn't based in painting or fine arts but I did heavily improve with the knowledge that translated over and have 12 years of painting expereince under my belt. Plus having digital skills really helps when it comes to marketing your art (if that is something you choose to do).
