About

I beleive anyone, of any age or talent level, can make art. I've developed and implemented progreams all over the country that demystify the nuts and bolts of drawing, painting, and color and began teaching and showing professionally when I was 15. Please see official bio below:

After earning a BFA in Painting with a minor in Drawing and English, Jennie Kay Snyder exhibited her paintings at regional, national, and international levels, winning dozens of awards and gaining a solid following among her peers and collectors.

During her 30-year career, Ms. Snyder has taught drawing, painting, collage and other media to children and adults of all ages, developed and implemented drawing programs in California, Oregon, Texas and Pennsylvania, and has given workshops and painting demonstrations throughout the West Coast and Texas. She designed and painted theater sets in California and Oregon and painted dozens of residential, commercial, and municipal murals, faux finishes, and decorative embellishments throughout the United States.

She has been represented by galleries in New York City, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Portland (Oregon), Austin, Texas, Pittsburgh and Warren, Pennsylvania, where she grew up. She is a featured artist in the watercolor book Splash 4, Romantic Homes Magazine, and Women in Art 278, and her work has been favorably reviewed in the LA Times, Ventura County Star, and New York City's Artspeak.

She began designing and making one-of-a-kind chandeliers and light fixtures in 2010, when she bought her first home.

She resides in Pittsburgh, PA, where she has spent the last 12 years as an adjunct Professor of Painting, Drawing, and Color Theory, a resident artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, owner of her online shop Queen Boheme Maison (www.queenboheme.com) and author of her blog, The Bohemian Way (https://queenbohememaison.com/blogs/the-bohemian-way).

Work with someone who will demystify the "hard" stuff like drawing from life, understanding color and how colors interact with each other, and who lets you ask all the questions you want. Work with someone who is kind and who loves to teach.
