About
I have been coaching for approximately 25 years in the city of Providence Rhode Island. I'm known by most as a no-nonsense tough coach that really cares about his players. I demand the best effort possible given because you only get out what you put in to anything in life. I think the most important thing that sticks out about me is that kids actually like me.
I really like the transformation that players go through when they first come work out with me to the last session. I really like working with the shy children that nobody picks up and pick up games or those that have confidence issues. Being that I have also worked with children in the community, I always feel like I have something at stake when I work with my players.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first see a student I'd like to get a visual idea of the potential of that student. Then through conversation I get a sense of the students desire and willingness to do whatever it takes to be great. Last but not least I like to get a sense of the heart inside. And then we start slow and in time build up a great pace for skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Just before the coronavirus epidemic I head coached for Team Providence Travel and won the 8th grade state championship as the head coach.
I have been working with children in the city of Providence for the past 25 years. I'm also a mental health assistant as and worked with the institute for the study of practice of nonviolence. I was the assistant director at David Lopes recreational center as well as the basketball coach there. I was one of the first coaches to head up Team Providence in its inception. Then the director of David Lopes and I co-founded Providence United. I have also refereed basketball games throughout the city's recreational department. As well as refereeing AAU games. This gives me the proper mindset to get the most out of teenage basketball players. As of right now I am giving my time as an assistant coach to the 8th grade Rhode Island Breakers AAU team.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I like to go for 2 hours at $25 an hour. And believe me the sweat is worth it!
How did you get started teaching?
Even as a child I would always teach the younger kids what I knew, no matter what it was. Then as a teenager I worked as a camp counselor during the summer camps. And when I started working for David Lopes recreational center it was like I had my own basketball court to teach the kids that came to the recreational center every day.
