About
Have fun! Assess level of skills/knowledge of mediums the student has. Will review basic comprehensive knowledge of composition, perspectives values/hues (some color theory)- whatever the student needs. Attention to direct light source, mid-shadow, reflective light. These all make a difference for a finished look.
I find most satisfying are two things:
1. I actually enjoy seeing a student's face light up in response to learning a new way of thinking about what they need to do for their work to go beyond their expectations (if a new painter) or that "aha" moment during a coaching session.
2. Learning new materials/techniques that accomplish my own personal effects. *this becomes a teaching tool for the student; enjoy teaching
