About
I love meeting students where they are in their creative journey and helping them grow as artists.
In teaching watercolor, I try to help students master some of the lessons they may have missed when originally learning this tricky medium.
I challenge each student by tailoring each lessons to their individual needs and desires.
I have worked with a variety of people from highschool students to folks in their eighties.
I really enjoy getting to know my students exchange and seeing how people progress within a short amount of time.
I have been teaching in Continuing Education for the Rhode Island School of Design for many years as well as the South County Art Association.
During Covid I have developed a series of online classes and teach using Zoom.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will have a conversation with them about what they want to work on.
Then we will work out schedule to meet online
I will then create a loose & responsive lesson "plan" to give the lessons some direction.
I will give students a weekly/biweekly assignment to work on then we will meet up online to review the work.
In these meetings I can demo techniques, answer any questions, review work and get the student on the right path
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

$20 per half hour
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I think it is imeritive to find someone who will build you up from where you are starting. We all have different experiences and it is important for a teacher to take the time to find the "holes" that a student might have in learning a particular technique.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want to learn?
What kind of things or subjects that excite you?
How much time do you want to dedicate to learing something new?
How much money do you want to spend on supplies?
