About
I grew up in the New England area where clam chowder and cold winters were frequent. With two parents who both worked full-time jobs, and a brother who was also active in sports, its needless to say we were always scrambling to get to and from practices, lessons, and games. Most of the time it felt like we were racing against the clock.
I was lucky enough to have a long and successful playing career at the high school and collegiate level. Throughout my basketball journey I experienced a wide-range of coaches and instructors who each had their own unique coaching approach.
Along the way, I cultivated my own coaching style that incorporates the athlete first. Part of this includes the “next shot” mindset, which strives to maintain a positive outlook. Instead of worrying about the last shot, the goal is to have our intention and energy focused on the next shot. Additionally, I have seen the best approach for success involves a more collaborative effort with player, parent, and coach.
My coaching strategy focuses on teaching, showing, and understanding rather than demanding and directing. By providing this at-home service I aim to remove commuting from the equation and reduce the stress and burden that many parents, including my own, have experienced.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have always advised on a free consultation with player and parent to discuss both of their current desired goals (similar or different). A "spin-cycle" version of what a typical workout would look like would be added into the consultation to give me the opportunity to assess the player's current skill level. With both goals and assessment in hand I then build a roadmap of how we will build on technique, build better work habits, and add-on new skill moves.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played basketball my entire life. In high school I was First Team All-State my junior and senior year. In college I started every game of my four-year career and am tenth all-time in scoring at Babson College. I have coached over 15 basketball camps and coached at the middle school and high school levels.

How did you get started teaching?
I like to think I've always been a student and a teacher of the game. In my youth I always had an astute knowledge of the game and was an extension of the coaching staff while on the court in High School and College. My first true coaching experience came in high school when I volunteered at the YMCA in my hometown during summer and spring breaks. Teaching fundamentals and muscle memory is critical to avoiding bad habits and is the foundation for a successful athlete. In college I ran multiple summer camps with my own school and other local colleges nearby. After college I was a volunteer high school coach for three years with my original high school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students aged 8-19 ranging from skill backgrounds of still needing to learn the basic fundamentals to fine-tuning shot form, dribble skills and a go-to move (and counter move).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the coach has a great understanding of your personal goals and is willing to coach in a way to help you achieve them. Also, I think it is critical that any coach has been coached at some point in their life as well so they can better understand the player-coach dynamic.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
- Why do you want to get better?
- How important is putting in extra work/time to your craft (separate from standard practices/games)?
- What is your favorite thing about basketball?
- What is your most confident part of your game?
- What is your least confident part of your game?
