About

Bill has photographed South Carolina’s beauty and business since 1964. Bill earned a BFA degree in photo illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology, beginning his career in photojournalism. In 1966 he started his own studio and has produced creative photo solutions for numerous corporations, ad agencies and design firms.

Combining over five decades of experience, he now operates his own studio specializing in aerial, advertising and business photography. Recently he added fine art reproduction services, producing high quality giclée prints for himself and numerous regional artists.

Professional qualifications include membership in American Society of Media Photographers, Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of SC, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce

53 Years after graduating from the College of Graphic Arts and Photography, Bill Barley is still at it full time. After a career including photojournalism, advertising and corporate photography, he’s become a Giclée printer, doing fine art reproduction for regional artists in the Southeast.

“RIT seminars in the early 2000’s helped me make the jump from film to the digital world. Learning never stops even today.” Barley explained about reinventing his career.

An active pilot, he still instructs aviation students, mentors younger photographers and actively shoots new material for himself and clients.

“I’m down to a 50 hour week now,” he confessed.
