About

Seeing a kids and parents satisfaction with the progression over time is the best reward I could ever get from basketball training. I started coaching and training in 1986 when I was senior in high school. I am Gold Coach Licensed and have coached kids from Elementary, High School and also on the AAU level. I enjoy building a kid's self esteem, confidence, and helping them learn to be satisfied with giving their all, even if it falls short of their ultimate sporting goals.

    We have had 3 boys work with Coach Cotton. He is kind and compassionate, but expects no less than their best effort! He can quickly determine how to motivate a player, what they need to be their best, and help them find the skills they need to excel. Our boys went on to play for State Champion basketball teams in high school and one walked on at the University of Alabama. The youngest is still in training! He is a master of the basics and fundamentals and does his training building strength of character through Christ and teaches a drive for excellence through academics and personal accountability. He is a great coach!

    Frequently asked questions

    All players are given an evaluation to assess their skill level. From there  I'll develop a plan to help them with their goals.

    I graduated from Page High School and attended Columbia State Community College. I've coached and trained since 1986.

    I started teaching because I knew from first hand experience, that if a below average kid had the right training and was willing to put in hard work, I could be elite too!

    I have worked with kids (girls and boys) from all walks of life.
