About
I’ve been painting for 13 years and graduated from MTSU with a Bachelors of Fine Art with a concentration in painting, minors in printmaking, graphic design, and psychology. I have a great interest in many mediums and all eras from ancient art to contemporary art.
I am formally trained, but also largely self taught. teach painting classes at a local sip and paint studio which has taught me a lot about the different kinds of learning techniques for people. It’s also been a bit of a window into how art and psychology overlap.
A few times a year I teach a Process Painting Workshop. Each time I teach one, I love seeing how people open up and give into their creative intuition. Teaching these workshops has shown me that different personality types need different ways of instruction.
i don’t know how to not create things. It has been my way of life ever since I was a small child. I love making art as therapy, as a way of understanding oneself and the environment around us. I love watching the progress of individuals as they begin to understand the process better and better. I love watching an artist’s style and content emerge by having a meaningful dialogue and asking the right questions. I love seeing someone who starts as skeptical transform into someone who is proud of what they have created.
