Painting Lessons
About
My name is Rebecca Hosking, I have been an artist my entire life, I have worked in countless mediums and instructor for acrylic painting. I was a teacher at Young Rembrandts and have had my own art shows in galleries across America.
I enjoy inspiring those looking to explore their artistic talents. I like to teach catered to each individuals needs. My favorite is starting from the basics and laying the groundwork for the student to find their own style and passions. I enjoy the flexibility as I'm also a touring musician and songwriter, photographer, and walk steadily in the creative world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Communication is key, before the very first lesson so we can be on the same page and I can concentrate on the needs and wants of the individual. I like to perfect basic skills each person knows and innately has already, so then we are able to find and improve on what needs work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a teacher in several capacities. I have been a Spanish teacher and ESL teacher, in the art world I have worked for Young Rembrandts and taught one on one as well as full classes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
my pricing is negotiable, standard $30 per lesson online, charge a bit more due to COVID to meet face to face using all precautions necessary for everyone's safety. We can also negotiate deals for monthly ongoing classes that might make it a bit more cost-effective.
How did you get started teaching?
Young Rembrandts opened me up to new opportunities to share my skills, it was a regimented curriculum, although I enjoyed the experience I feel my teaching skills were better served when I was able to allow the students to express themselves more freely.
What types of students have you worked with?
ages 5 to 12, I have also worked with adults. I have no limit, if you are seeking guidance then you are an artist regardless your age it is never too early or too late to start.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Know in your heart what you want to achieve, then find a teacher you feel speaks to you on a level that allows you to soar to new heights. You want to enjoy the process and always be open to new ideas.
