Dan Lowe Music
About
I love helping new songwriters get started, and good songwriters get better - same with guitarists! I've been at it for quite a while (and have won some awards along the way), and I continue to learn and grow my skill sets as well, so I know it can be challenging, and I know how much the help of a mentor can be!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out what a student wants to get out of the lessons, and tailor my approach based on that discussion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of experience as a songwriter and performer, as well as in the studio.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My basic 'rate' is $60/hr, but there are a number of logistical factors that affect that also (travel vs. online, etc.), so every student's rate ends up being adjusted based on these.
How did you get started teaching?
My mom was a teacher, and it semed to come pretty naturally to me; I enjoy learning myself, and I love being able to help someone else learn something that I know.
What types of students have you worked with?
A fairly wide variety.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask your peers if you have contact with any, and checkout any online reviews you can find - but mostly, see if you can connect with the teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your level of interest, and what is your desired outcome, end goal, etc.?
