About
I'm an experienced private basketball coach/trainer, former Scout Team player with Belmont University, and a certified 94FEETOFGAME ambassador. I have multiple years of experience coaching, training, and working with athletes, as well as industry specific experience taught under NBA veteran coaches and GMs. I currently work with 20+ athletes throughout Middle Tennessee youth through college, and have experience with camps, clinics, and group training with athletes of all ages. I have a passion for working with athletes and being a positive influence in their lives both on and off the court, and always work to develop them as people, not just players.
More about my coaching experience:
I've been involved with coaching and training athletes for multiple years. I currently run a training business called No Hesi Hoops, where I run private and group trainings, clinics, camps, and academies. I've been a camp counselor with Belmont University Basketball for their summer camps over multiple summers, where I mainly worked with the older age groups (10-13). More recently, I've led/helped with clinics for kids grades 2nd-8th for Pro Skills Basketball, as well as led clinics for and worked at Swish Works, a state of the art basketball training facility in Hendersonville. I've been a private trainer for over a year, and have worked with athletes from youth all the way up to college. In addition, I've also been a coach with Soccer Shots for over a year, where I work with very young kids ages 2-6. As a result, I've been around and worked with kids of many different ages, and understand the wholistic development pipeline and how to coach athletes of different ages. I've also completed several courses with Sports Management Worldwide, including the Basketball Player Development and Strategy course, where I was mentored by long time NBA Assistant Coach and pro trainer Irv Roland/former GM/current Assistant GM with the Atlanta Hawks Larry Riley, the Basketball Video Performance Analysis course where I was mentored by long time Scout and NBA/college consultant James Kerti, as well as the Basketball Analytics course, where I was mentored by NBA analytics pioneer Dean Oliver. Finally, I'm also a certified 94FEETOFGAME ambassador under coach Phil Handy, 3x NBA Champion and one of the top development coaches in the world.
My training philosophy:
My training/coaching philosophy mixes foundational skill work with evidence-based coaching methods and workout design to help
athletes better transfer skills to the game, build adaptability, and be ready for real game situations. I train athletes to make better decisions, execute under pressure, and deal with unpredictability that the game presents. I'm very big on balance and footwork, as basketball is played from the feet up, and balance is one of the most important things a player needs to play on any level.
