Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Going through each step with as much info as possible. Making sure form is what is most important. Then once all that is good, we move on to aiming.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Work at a pro shop in Dayton. I've been giving private lessons for over 2 years now. I'm certified level 2 with USA Archery
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Price will be discussed once contacted.
How did you get started teaching?
I went to the shop I work at now and talked to the owner to see about getting into anything archery related. He kind of shot it down as far as making money but I pressed on, have learned anything and everything he and others have to offer and its been a passion ever since
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked mostly with kids ranging from 4-18 years old. I've worked with several of adults that wanted to learn a little more and get into it the right way. I currently have a small client base that range from 9-15 years old.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my students that had excellent form but was still struggling with grouping their arrows together was working on getting their release correct and after just a few tries they made the best shot that I had seen them make and it actually gave me chills because it was so perfect!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Call and ask questions. Archery is the sport where you don't have to be the smartest, fastest, toughest, or tallest athlete out there to be successful. All you need is information and a drive to learn and get better!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
None. You can't find out till you ask and talk to someone!
