What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to dive right in and get painting while we get to know each other.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have painted most of my life, and have had a few years of formal lessons, and I am in school to get my degree for Art Education
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Depends on whether this is a solo lesson or a group lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
A friend wanted to know how I learned to paint, so I started showing her what I knew. I eventually decided to go to school to teach painting, because I loved it so much!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from age six to eighty, and enjoyed them all, from beginner to hobbyist painter, to experienced artists looking for a new medium.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently got to start teaching a group of women at the Cagle Mountain Community Center, we have such a blast!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who's art you like and who doesn't talk down to you. Find someone you gel with, we are here to help you nurture your creativity!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much time do you have to practice? What's your budget? Do your styles gel?
