Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Mentoring
We'll have a mind jam and figure out where exactly it is that you are struggling with work and/or business. I'll give you a step by step action plan to make your goals into a reality. We will chat weekly about what is working and what is not working for you, what you are struggling with and succeeding at until you reach your goals!
Classes
Classes are held in a group setting in my studio. We will discuss what you are most interested to know and your goals. Classes range from beginner photography to advanced classes such as night photography. Classes are added to the Gone Rogue Photography VIP Facebook group where you get feedback and ask questions at any time! Most classes meet weekly and are 4 weeks long and last about 2 hours per class.

How did you get started teaching?
I never thought I would teach professionally, but because I have found success in the photography world I am regularly asked, heck I'm begged, to teach people the steps I took to get where I am today.
On my journey, I found many teachers and paid for many classes that were actually just a slew of videos haphazardly thrown together. I have never taken a class outside of college that required any type of homework or even peer review. Most are just video after video and are not well organized. The information shared can easily be found for free elsewhere on the interwebs and you cannot actually contact the instructor despite their claims.
As a leader in the photography community, I am aware that we need quality education from vetted pros. The industry is totally unregulated, which allows "photographers" with very little experience or knowledge to claim that they can teach you how to become a succesfull photographer, which leaves the door open for a slew of problems.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all levels of experience.
I teach technical, business & marketing skills that help everyone from mom's who want better photos of their kids to small business owners creating social media content to those looking to create a photography business of their very own.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You will often find "instructors" with no education claiming that self taught photographers are actually better. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Common sense should tell you that it is more likely that someone with a formal education is more knowledgable and qualified to teach you. Would you let a self taught doctor perfrom your next surgery? No? How is this any different?
