I got started with teaching and coaching my own kids.  I have also coached others kids that were not on my teams and ran my own basketball camps.  (Desert HOOPS Dreams)

I am willing to work with any student/athlete that is willing to learn and have the drive to get better by working hard.

I have worked with players as young as 5 years old, all the way up to adults.

This past basketball season, I started with some guys that had some really good talent but most of them were thinking about themselves more than the team. The second half of the season those players moved on. I was left with less talent on the team but they had more heart, desire to play together and overall we were a better team.  The players enjoyed playing with each other.

Ask about thier background? Why they teach/coach? Are they open to knew techniques and ideas about training and teaching their sport?

Are they willing to hear the answer from the teach/coach? If not do not ask the question.

Are they willing to do the work a teacher/coach will require?

Are they willing to be honest with themselves about thier abilities?
