I am professional, certified, and experienced. I have been teaching for almost 20 years. As a teacher, I'm encouraging, patient, and dedicated. I create individualized lessons for each student, focusing on the student's goals and priorities.
Specifics: I am a certified teacher in the US and have taught English, photography, cultures, and social sciences for 16 years in public schools. In addition, I have taught English, relocation, and marketing to adults in Europe for two years. I have taught online classes with great success.
I am both TEFL and TOSEL certified. I have a Bachelor degree in Psychology with a focus on science, Master of Science degree in Teaching with a specialty in Reading, and a further degree in Administration.
I have been painting for over 20 years and have run a photography business for 10 years. I enjoy cooking and baking for relaxation.

I love getting to know my students and helping them achieve their goals. Seeing their growth is incredibly fulfilling. I can't imagine life without it. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and hard-won lessons with others, as I am always a teacher at heart.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know the new student and assess that students current level. I learn about the student's goals and what a student actually wants to accomplish. (These can be different things. For example, a student may want to learn to paint, but more than just the skills, the student may actually want to create art pieces from the beginning following my lead. Others want to learn skills to create a unique painting on their own later.) Once I know what is important to the student, I work to develop relevant lessons that allow a student to reach each desired goal.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are generally $20 an hour. They include individualized lesson plans, ongoing assessment toward goals, extension activities (available after each class), encouragement, and availability for questions and assistance throughout the week.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both children and adults online and in person. I have worked with complete novices and advanced students who only wanted to hone their skill set further.
For English training, I have worked with native English speakers and with students learning English in both English-speaking and non-English speaking countries (learning English as a foreign language). I am familiar with both American English and British English. I speak American English.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who can understand what you want to achieve and has a plan to get you there.
