What is your typical process for working with a new student?
This Is Intentional is all about comfort! As a teacher, I am always open to moments where I am able to step into student role and learn from the student themself. When working with a new student, I am interested in showing them how to relatetheir current and/or any intention onto a canvas. The process begins with asking the student what they would like to paint and figuring out the intent behind why and getting them to paint that answer onto a canvas in front of them.
How did you get started teaching?
I teach myself a new way to paint every single time I touch a brush because I only create one of one anything, therefore every time I paint I am painting something completely brand new!
The first time i taught someone else how to paint was my first group aint class called "Intention: A Paint Class" It was great! We painted hanging trees with flowers
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages, from 2 to 81 !
All students at different levels of paint experience.
Painters more skilled and experienced than me!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Never be afraid to paint outside of your mind's regular thought process!
There are no wrongs in painting!
