About this pro

Hello! My name is Johnny and I teach out of a beautiful studio in the woods outside of Nashville! I graduated from the Berklee College of Music, have studied the music craft since I was 4 years old and have over a decade of experience playing the guitar.  A friendly and non-judgemental atmosphere is something you can look forward to in our lessons.  We will discover the interworkings of the guitar and express our passion for this art form.  Excited to create, share and learn with you.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Initially I try to gauge your proficiency level and interests in the first lesson. We'll discuss your interests music styles and delve into the techniques and skills required to allow us to play said styles at the highest level. However, regardless of the particular style of choice, my approach to teaching is holistic. We will start with learning (or reviewing) the fundamentals so that we are confident that we possess a strong base from which to build on!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music. I have been teaching for years in the form of private lessons, music camps, mentoring, etc. I was a student of private lessons on 4 instruments and have witnessed the successes and failures of specific teaching methods first-hand.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I typically charge $25 for a half an hour or $40 for an hour lesson.

I am willing to adapt to a customer's unique needs and adjust the pricing accordingly. If a potential customer has concerns regarding the pricing please know I am willing to work with you! Typically my customers pay at the end of every lesson. If a different payment structure works better for you let's discuss and figure out a new plan!

How did you get started teaching?

I began mentoring younger students while serving leadership roles in my music program in High School. From there I started teaching private lessons on Guitar and Saxophone as well as being hired as an instructor at music camps.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have primarily worked with younger students in the beginning stages of their musical development. However, I have experience teaching all age groups and experience levels!
