About
I am a lifelong student of the game. A native New Yorker, I got to train under the Harlem Wizards at summer camps. There, they stressed isolation drills and stations to help me become more aware of and improve my footwork, one-on-one moves, shooting, dribbling, man defense, protecting the ball. It was a fun way to learn.
In college, I worked with players better than myself, who taught me the value of keeping a defender on your back, and how to turn ordinary passes into assists.
More recently, I have coached players ages 7-16. I coached middle school basketball for one year, and have coached recreational teams for many years.
I continue to train players using similar strategies, with an emphasis on court spacing and awareness, as well as constant movement on offense, and creating opportunities to attack on defense.
And I continue to enjoy being a student of the game, and sharing what I've learned with players who want to improve their knowledge and skills. And keeping it fun.
It took learning techniques and skills for me to be successful at this game, and I enjoy sharing those pointers with younger players so they can be put in a position to succeed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want the student to be comfortable. There's so much to learn. All of us are always learning. So, while it's great to see a student's preknowledge, I like to assess where they are, and add something new to expand their range and knowledge.
