    The Best!
I am so happy that lessons.com lead me to DPV Music! Lael is the best teacher I could have ever imagined. My son and I are learning so much and love the lessons: the hands on experience, the expertise, the professional yet laid back atmosphere, and the engagement in the whole process!
Lael is very encouraging and supportive of our efforts. He is enthusiastic for every lesson! It has been an amazing experience!

Both my sons take drum lessons from Lael. He was recommended to us by a local music teacher. They absolutely love it. They have learned so much and look forward to their lesson each week. Lael makes it fun and engaging. I canโ€™t say enough good things about what he gives to the experience of learning. I would highly recommend him.

Lael is, hands down, awesome! Ive only been taking drum lessons with him for a short while, but, so far, my experience has been nothing short of fantastic.
Drums are new to me, but the world of private music lessons are not. When I was younger, I took private lessons for violin and guitar...went through a slew of instructors, but none come close in comparison to Lael.
Its very apparent that music and teaching is his passion. He truly puts his heart and soul into this business. The structure of his music program is very well planned and impressively professional.
The energy he brings into teaching is magnetic; he has a magical way of making sure you leave your lessons more excited than when you arrived.
I would most definitely recommend him to anyone!

Lael is the best teacher. He teaches from a heart full of passion for music and in rhythm with each studentโ€™s particular needs/goals. Heโ€™s gifted and hardworking, dependable, trustworthy, welcoming, enthusiastic, encouraging, absolutely everything youโ€™d want to find in a drum instructor. His session materials are thoughtfully planned and easy to follow. My three children have enjoyed being in his class and we highly recommend him. Youโ€™re going to love him!

    Frequently asked questions

FIND OUT WHAT THEY WANT TO ACHIEVE! That's DPV's first priority...We always customize the lesson to fit with the students interests and their goals and put them with the best fit instructor. The Introductory Lesson is an audition for the student. i.e. They are auditioning the instructor. We want that relationship to be pure gold before moving forward. After this there is zero obligation to continue. Even the first month of a lesson package is risk free! You can quit at any time and receive a full refund of the remaining lessons of that month.

Owner/Instructor, Lael Eccard joins his 9 instructors with decades of professional performance and teaching experience. All instructors have degrees from schools like Berklee College of Music, Belmont, Musicians Institute and the like.

Our owner says: "During my schooling at Musicians Institute I was a non-traditional student. I was 36 when I attended and wanted to finish a degree that I'd started nearly 20 years prior.  I found many of my younger peers coming to me for help with our assignements.  This felt great and I knew that passing along my knowledge and passion for music to others was what I wanted to do for the long term."

    Ages 4-60. All skill levels.

Our last "Live Concert" performance was a huge success and gives all my students real world experience performing on a stage, with a pro PA, gear and LIGHTS!

If it's for your son or daughter, or for yourself, make sure the instructor has had a FULL FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK! Then be sure the instructor/company is going to customize the lesson towards the student's interests. First and foremost I tell my instructors to place joy over progress. Progress should never come at the cost of joy. Next, your instructor needs to realize that music lessons and learning an instrument are about way more than just the ability to play an instrument. Music teaches the younger student sooooo many life lessons like: Discipline, dedication, reward, math skills, cognitive skills, creative skills, punctuality and much much more. Foundation is key! Find an instructor that can give you that, but also customize it if you know some areas you'd like to focus on. Also, be meticulous when hiring an instructor. Look at their background and education, what credentials do they have? Are they currently active in the music business? You want to hire someone that can help you achieve your own personal goals...ask them how they plan on doing that before hiring them.
What do you want to gain from it all? Figure out your goals. Is this just for fun? For most students it is. Or is this to refine some specific skills? Make sure your instructor can fit your needs AND keep it fun and engaging!
