FRANtastic Flute Lessons
About
I have a passion for teaching music. I want to make sure that my students reach their musical goals. It is my job to help you get to where you want to be as a musician. You set the goals, I help you reach YOUR own goals. This is all about you and where you want to be.
I have taught many students in Middle and High School. My students have met their goals and improve so quickly, but that's all them. They put in the work to get there. I will do whatever I can to make sure you are satified with your improvement.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Lessons with new students will be all about dicovering the skill level. Tone, fundamentals and technique are the basics of any instrument. We will find out what you can and cannot do YET. We will get to know each other both musically and personally. It is a very laid back lesson. Nothing too serious.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught middle schoolers and high schoolers to help them be successful in an audition. I have also taught students how to play flute for marching season when they had a different primary instrument.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a pricing system. That is something we talk about in the introductory lesson.
Introductory lessons do have a price:
30 minutes - $10
1 hour - $20
I am flexible and understanding. You should not have to break your bank account in order to have lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I actually started teaching on accident. When I was a Junior in high school, one of the Freshmen asked if I could help them with their auditon music. We had a mini, but productive lesson during luch and they got better within that time. They told other people in the section about my help and before I knew it I was helping about 4 people with the audition music. I recognized how much I loved it and realized that that was what I wanted to do when I was older.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners in Middle School to Advanced Level High Schoolers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love love love TMEA. If you are not familiar with that it is the Texas Music Educator's Association. I have performed at the conference twice. Once with the Honor High School Orchestra and once with the Community College All State Band. I love looking and playing all the instruments as well as hearing AMAZING ensembles perform. Jazz, Orchetra, Band, Choir. There is everything you can think of and it is so much fun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you connect with the teacher on a personal level. You don't want to be taught by an emotionless robot who only cares about your musical ability. Make sure the teacher can help you with YOUR personal goals, not their goals for you.
