About

I have been making art my whole life and teaching it for over 30 years — and I still get excited every single time a student sees something click.

My name is Gino Morrow. I am a practicing public artist, creative director, and art instructor based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Fredonia, where I also began my teaching career as an instructor in painting, sculpture, and multimedia visual arts. Since then, I have taught at the university level, at community colleges, through youth arts nonprofits, and in K-12 classrooms — and I have never stopped creating work of my own. That combination is what makes working with me different. I am not teaching from a textbook. I am teaching from a studio.

My professional work spans public art commissions, Fortune 500 brand design, and creative direction for clients including Citibank, Toyota, and the U.S. Department of the Air Force. I have completed large-scale public murals and installations in Texas, New York, and beyond. I bring all of that real-world experience into every lesson — not to impress you, but to give you context. When I teach you how to build a composition, I am drawing from the same principles I used to design a $100,000 public installation. When I talk about color, I am talking about the same decisions I make on a canvas today.

In my private lessons, I work with students in oil painting, acrylics, drawing, and illustration techniques — both conventional and AI-assisted. Whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or looking to sharpen skills you have had for years, I meet you exactly where you are. My approach is direct, patient, and honest. I will tell you what is working and what is not — not to discourage you, but because that kind of candid feedback is what actually moves you forward. I create a space where it is safe to make mistakes, try things that do not work, and discover what your hand and eye are capable of when you give them room.

What I love most about teaching is the moment a student stops second-guessing themselves and starts trusting their instincts. That shift — from hesitation to intention — is something I have watched happen hundreds of times, and it never gets old. My job is not to make you paint like me. My job is to help you find out how you paint.

I also offer instruction in AI-assisted illustration — an area where I bring both technical fluency and a fine art sensibility. Understanding how to work with these tools creatively, rather than just using them as shortcuts, is a skill set that is becoming increasingly valuable for artists at every level.

If you are looking for a teacher who will push you, encourage you, and give you the kind of real-world perspective that only comes from decades of actually doing the work — I would love to work with you.

Let's make something.
