After 25 years of doing the daily grind as a lawyer and working in corporate America painting called me back! I returned to passion for painting and art, and now I would like to share with others some basic skills one can learn to become an artist. If I can do it, so can you whether if you are young or old!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first assess skill level: beginner up to intermediate. Second, I discuss what they want to learn, from general to specific. Finally, I develop a lesson plan for them, or if just one lesson I develop a study and practice for that lesson to get the most out of it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I am a college educated professional with a doctorate degree, and self-taught artist, I have 4 years of teaching experience.

Yes. Individual and group rates. Discounts on packages for multiple lessons.
Individual 1 lesson: $40.00
Individual 3 lessons: $65.00
Individual 3 + lessons: (negotiated)
Group 1 lesson: $60 (up to 12 people)
Group 3 lessons: $120.00 (up to 12 people)

I used to teach law. I am just getting started to teach art.

I love visiting the sea or ocean. I truly enjoyed my family vacation last year to Galveston, TX.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for basic skills, I can help you to learn those. If you are looking to improve your skills I can help you with that. If you are looking to challenge yourself, I am the one you are looking for as I will coach you on that.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students need to ask what they want from both art and art lessons. What kind of art do you have a passion for? What level artist do you want to be? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What area of art skill do you need the most guidance and instruction?
