Miss Addie Pierce has a consummate knowledge and pedagogy of art. She is able to break down complex ideas to their simplest forms and created a method that was easy to follow step by step. In her class she taught me how to draw an alpaca. I am terrified of attempting to draw animals, but she was encouraging and modeled the instruction so that it was fool proof. In no time, I was able to go from simple shapes to a complex, living, and breathing alpaca! She gave me the confidence and tools to make me successful with my first attempts at drawing an animal. I highly recommend her class for all age groups if you want to take a stab at doing art in a fun and engaging environment!

She had an easy to approach atmosphere and provided clear and easy to follow directions. She was also able to keep the mood relaxed with a fun atmosphere about it. Overall a fantastic lesson

    Frequently asked questions

I would like to get to know my student. Why do you want to take these lessons? What is your passion? What would you like to improve upon? Anything that helps me help the student

    I have worked/mentored under a professional illustrator/creator.

Pricing starts at $30/hr but I am open to negotiating. These are difficult times.

I started teaching as a simple TA and moved onto becoming a Special Education teacher. Now I am moving onto teaching my passion-art!

I have worked with a variety of students from different backgrounds as well as capabilities. I have worked with students with dyslexia, autism, ADHD, ED, and more.

My last art lessons with 2 students was a blast! They kept giving me cool facts of the creatures they were drawing. One decided to draw Mew-Two and the other a megalodon. We all had a lot of fun and left the lesson with lovely works of art. Loved it!

My advice would be know what you are looking to improve upon and find someone who is knowledgeable in that area to help guide you.

Before talking through a teacher wbout what a student needs considering looking inward and asking yourself, what are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What do you hope to improve upon?
