About
I worked professionally as an animator, graphic designer, and game artist at various studios, and taugth graphic, animation, and game design classes to middle, high school, and college students.
I love showing young artists their true potential by providing access to just the right resources fitting of their current stage of development. Each student is truly an individual and I love the challenge of helping them find their unique inspiration.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have a few well scaffolded (step by step) drawing exercises that are challenging but accessible to all ages. Once I see their drawing level I ask them about what art styles inspire them and help them understand how to use the fundamental principles to achieve their role model's work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 4 year degree in Animation and Media Arts from the Art Institute of California Los Angeles. I worked professionally as an animator in Los Angeles, as a graphic designer in Orange County, and as a game artist in Seoul, South Korea.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $24/hour but I am willing to negotiate.
How did you get started teaching?
I was tired of working on a computer without interacting with people for eight hours a day so I started teaching animation at the local college. I found that I loved teaching as much as I love art!
What types of students have you worked with?
1 years teaching college students, 3 teaching middle school students, and 5 teaching high school students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I got a chance to substitute teach some remedial students, but no one told me their work was easier than everyone else's. The students and I did some really challenging work together, and afterwards one of them stood up and told me that she was smart enough to stay in the normal classes, but hated being laughed at. She said she was smarter than the work they give her in this class. I was surprised, but also impressed, because within one hour of having a teacher believe in her she was willing to be vulnerable again. I even made a comic about it! https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/almost-there/substitute-teacher-1-of-2/viewer?title_no=729&episode_no=1
