Joey Gallahan Photography
About
I teach novice to pro level photography for iconic Austin landscapes, urbanscapes, and golden/blue hour image making in the downtown Austin area. Once we confirm your ability to control the 3 setting pillars of photography, we meet up downtown an hour before dusk and review compositions.
I love showing people easy to use recipes for stunning, vibrant images using the cameras which they already own. I never ask anyone to upgrade equipment or software; we create with the simple tools you already have. Unlocking the potential of your camera allows your photography skills to immediately improve.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First thing we do when booking a session is we make sure you can locate and operate 3 distinct settings on your camera. Either by owner's manual or youtube video, the ability to handle your camera prior to the scheduled shoot is established to save you valuable shooting time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have degrees in Marketing, Photographinc Technologies, and work full time as a commercial photographer for some of the city's largest retail and professional businesses. With over 10 years of professional photography experience, I have the answers for most common questions about execution.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My classes are $99 for the hour on site. There is no charge for the initial consultation via phone/messenger/skype. The first 15 minutes are spend discussing what compositions the student wants to capture from our selected location. The last 45 minutes to sunset are spent photographing.
