Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I identify the developmental level of the athlete and any current issues the athlete may be dealing with. From there, with explanation the athlete can understand, we create keywords to practice remembering every swing, throw or pitch until new keywords are needed. Most answers with youth come through their facial expressions or body language. Their style will be the most comfortable building confidence.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Out of South Hills High School in West Covina, Coach Pierce was named MVP for the Valle Vista League in both football and baseball his senior year. On the football field, he was the starting Quarterback, Free Safety, Punter, Field Goal Kicker and Punt Returner. On the diamond, he was the starting pitcher with a 9-1 record and a 1.71 ERA. At the plate, he hit .471 with a school record that still stands today of 11 Home Runs. After making the All- LA Times teams for both football and baseball, he continued both sports at Citrus Community College. An All-Conference Strong Safety in football, in baseball, he went on to hit .438 his freshman year and .380 his sophomore year leading to a 5th round package and move into pro baseball. And yes, Coach Pierce can teach QB mechanics and techniques.
