I specialize in electric/classical and picking technique and help students play guitar efficiently so they can break past their speed plateaus. If you are looking to learn how to read music, I can help you with that. If reading music is not your thing, I can help you through tablature. Also, if you want to sharpen your ear, I can help with that as well.
I treat each student like a different puzzle. Every student is unique so I figure out ways to communicate my ideas so the student can understand better.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I'll see how much controll they have over their fingers and start with right hand picking (or fingerstyle for classical) on the first string. Then, I get them to play the first 4 frets in ascending order using all 4 fingers.
If they are playing classical, I will teach them basic right hand arpeggio patterns and then move on to learning to read music.
For electric students I give them the option to learn to read music or tabs based on their goals (if they want to go to music school, I'll teach them to read music).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's in Guitar Performance
Over 6 years of teaching experience
