About
I have a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of North Texas. I am currently working towards a B.S. in Physics from UNT as well as my Mathematics 7-12 Teacher Certification and M.Ed. from Southern Methodist University. I graduated from UNT in May of 2020 as a member of the Honors College with my first degree and also completed a Certificate in the Mathematics of Scientific Computation. I am employed full-time as an Algebra 2 and Geometry teacher at Uplift Education through Teach For America. My formal teaching experience includes two years as a teaching assistant for introductory undergraduate math classes at UNT and one year as a full-time teacher at a public charter high school.
My core values are compassion and curiosity and I try to incorporate those into everything I do. I love learning and teaching. It is my goal to push my students to become more knowledgeable, creative, curious, humble, and kind. I believe that social-emotional learning is just as important as on-topic curriculum and I try to engage with my students on a human-to-human level.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During the first session, I work to understand a student's needs as well as their strengths and interests. From there, I will develop a plan including lesson time, practice material, and further reading. I constantly adjust the plan to best fit the student's intentions of the tutoring sessions.
