I teach painting classes in my beautiful studio in deep ellum. My classes are small and personal. I not only teach students how to paint but how to enter their creativity without fear. I got my masters at parsons school of art and design in NYC and have been showing in two galleries. Please visit my work and class descriptions at Mgargour.com
I love working with people and helping them tackle the fear of
It was relaxing, fun and I learned.
I loved my class with Marianne! She challenged me to let my creative side speak and shine through. She is a wonderful teacher!!
The course was well planned and thought through, the studio was very pleasant and Marianne has a very positive energy that is both inspiring and encouraging.
Marianne warmly welcomes students with different artistic backgrounds into the studio for her painting classes. She devotes time to coaching each student as well as discussing good artistic practice / technique with the group. She's actively helping you figure out what's working in your painting and what needs tweaking. Plus, who wouldn't want to hang out in Marianne's studio?!
When my students arrive we usually discuss a topic. I show a video on and inspirational topic and then I do a slide presentation on an art topic. I then do a demo and then the students begin working on their project. I usually begin with Drawing, composition, then value and then color mixing.
I got my masters in painting at Parsons School of Art and Design and I have studied with many teachers over the 30 years.

I was teaching during my masters and I have taught through out my career.
I have worked with all ages.
I recently had a show at my high school art teachers gallery. This was particularly rewarding to continue the legacy of teaching and painting.
Look for artists in the area...see their work and perhaps talk to them.
I think if the students like the teachers painting style it helps to know the direction of the teaching.
