About
Hands on one on one creative demonstration teaching students how to actually "see" value in painting and showing them how its done with oil paint. Realism style. From beginners to advanced, I’ve taught them all for many years at one of Dallas’ oldest art schools. I teach watercolor also. I have a MFA degree in studio art from UNT, and have been painting for 35yrs professionally, winning best of show awards, locally and nationally, having shown here and abroad. Duke Horn on Instagram.
It is extremely gratifying to see a student grasp the mechanics of the artistic process as I make it crystal clear the easy steps necessary to to realize a great painting.
Aside from the exhibiting of my work, the side income I garner makes the sweat and tears all worthwhile.
I have won Best of Show or placed in many exhibitions throughout the U.S. and Europe. But I love teaching beginners!
