About

If you are looking to begin, grow and develop your artistic practice, I can help. If you are looking to stretch yourself creatively, I can help. If you are "looking" and want to learn to "see", I can help. I work with all levels, mediums and styles.

I am every day, an artist. I am always creating. My work manifests itself in many different mediums and approaches. I am very aware of how scary an artistic life/calling can be. But, it has proven to be very exciting, rewarding and amazing for me once I learned to trust in my ability. I make art for love, for humanity, for the world. Whether you are wanting to paint as a hobby, creating a portfolio to sell your work or applying to art schools, I would like the opportunity to help you begin and develop your artistic practice.

    Frequently asked questions

First, I like to have a verbal exploration with my new students. I want to know their background, goals, dreams, experiences, likes/dislikes, other hobbies, etc. Any information that helps me assess where and how to start with the student. Once this information is digested, I recommend a course of action and a schedule to help the student embark on their artistic goals. This first consultation is free and from there we can decide on a schedule.

I have been making art since I was six. I have taught art and film at the college level for 20 years. I have a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from The Kansas City Art Institute, an AA in Computer Animation from The Art Institute of Dallas, an MFA in Painting & Graphic Design from Texas Woman's University, and a PhD. in Art & Technology from The University of Dallas. I can be your personal art professor.

I have a set price for each session, which is one hour and it is 30.00 per hour. All classes include materials but you are welcome to bring your own. Please feel free to contact me for more details.

I was working as a visual effects director and a friend asked me to teach an art class at a local university. So I did. And I loved it! I was hired full-time the next semester and I have been teaching art and film since then.

All kinds! I work one on one with children ages 4-18 and one on one or in group settings with students 7 and older. As a college professor, I am versed in the art of providing group and individual instruction.

Make sure you work with someone you connect with and trust. It helps to like the artist and the kind of work they do.
