About this pro

Legend Training was started by Will Mims, former soccer captain at Adams State University (NCAA D2). Will has had professional trials with: Sporting CP ("Sporting Lisbon") [Portugal]; Benfica (Portugal); SG Sacavense (Portugal); and many other professional clubs. Athletes will receive great instruction at a reasonable rate.

I have loved football (soccer) since being 8 years of age. It has given me so many wonderful opportunitities in life, and I have been lucky to have been trained by former United States Men's National Team players, olympians, and other professionals, ans love passing on the information.

My 01 daughter is a D1 commit to an SEC school and has been trained by some of the top coach’s in DFW. “So, we have been at this thing for a minute”. We live South of I-20 and through the years it has been extremely difficult to find a top notch trainer South of I-20. She and I both have enjoyed Will’s approach to training her. Every session he gives her new tools that will enhance her in game performance and then asks her to only try to perfect one. It feels good not to have to drive North for top notch training.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Establish goals (e.g., make a club, high school team); warmup; drills; cooldown; talk about things the athlete did well, and one thing to improve on before the next time we meet.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been on trial with several professional clubs / teams. Also, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adams State with a 3.9 GPA in Psychology :)

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My time is worth 50 per hour. However, if that is out of budget we can possibly lower the price to meet both of our needs.

How did you get started teaching?

Coaching during the college off seasons :)

What types of students have you worked with?

Five year olds through professionals.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

FC Dallas games are always fun.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a mentor that has achieved the goals ypu want to achieve. There are a few secrets to success -- hiring a mentor is one of them :)

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are my goals related to soccer? (E.g., I want to play on a high school team, or I want to play on a college team.)
