My name is Richard gutierrez, I have an associates degree in music and will have my bachelor's in education in May 2019. I've been playing trumpet for about 14 years. I been a part of all city and region band, state solo and ensemble, and performed with many Jazz ensembles. Work well with beginner-intermediate students.
I love seeing that "yes!" moment after weeks of hard work and practice. The student's enjoyment in playing makes the work enjoyable.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will spend a few weeks working on our embouchure. What a proper embouchure looks like, how to set our embouchure, blowing air, buzzing without mouthpiece. Once I feel that they are ready, we will move on to the mouthpiece for a few weeks as well. Afterwards we move to the trumpet.

Associate in music and bachelor in education

Prices vary person to person. I understand most can not afford lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
Work closely with students from around the schools near my college.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students from lower poverty schools that were successful in contests and tryouts.
