About

I have been teaching CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens classes since 2008, while teaching massage therapy classes in Fort Worth, Texas.

I hold Batchelor degrees in History English Literature, and an Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising. After realizing I did not want to teach public school any longer, I went to Texas Massage Institute at the age of 48 years young to become a massage therapist, instructor and CE provider, which including teaching CPR to new students.

After the closing of the school, I continued to teach continuing education classes and CPR to massage students and the general public. I teach one-on-one or small group classes. Small classes are preferrable so that we can discuss various views on CPR settings, but individual one-on-one sessions are wonderful too.

Classes can be scheduled to meet most any need. Classes are usually 3-4 hours depending on new or renewal status.

I can usually teach Monday-Saturday 9-5, but if you need Sunday...we will work it out.

If you should need to reschedule a class, it is okay too! Not an issue. I work with a lot of home healthcare clients, and massage therapists whose schedules vary quite regularly. Just try to let me know ahead of a scheduled class that you will not be arriving.

I also teach by correspondence classes as well. In these classes, you will pick up the class packet (includes portable mannequins, dvd, booklet, etc) and work at your own pace. When you are comfortable with your skills, you will come to the office (return all class materials), take the Skills Test and receive your certificate.

I LOVE teaching! Coming from a family of teachers, I guess it is "in my blood" so to speak. CPR is a "pet" class I love because you can actually save someone's life or assistant someone else and know what to do in case an emergency should arrive.

I will strive to help my students with their needs and goals. After having my own daughter choke on a penny when she was a "beginning crawler", I realized the importance of CPR, then just a mere few years ago, I recognized my son going into anaphalactic shock post kidney transplant and was able to assist hospital staff getting him to follow commands.

I come from a family of teachers.  After working in the public school systems, I was asked to attend massage school, where after graduating and receiving my license, I was asked to teach massage and continuing education classes at Texas Massage Institute in Fort Worth, Texas.

After the state required graduating students have CPR, I became certified and began teaching CPR courses.  It has been a very rewarding addition to my skill set.

I work with students from many different walks of life, age ranges and career choices.  Many have been massage therapists-where others like myself also work in the home healthcare industry.

Others simply want to be well-trained in their personal lives in case something happens.

Oh Wow!  Talking with a group of young kindergarteners about how to perform CPR and dialing 911 to help others even as young as they are.

Plus we achieved the 2015 Best of Hurst Award for businesses for Mid-Cities Massage Centre and CPR Services of North Texas in 2020.

Look for someone who is well-trained, that is willing to meet your schedule and that genuinely cares for the individuals and training...not just the money aspect.

    1.  Where are they located?

    2.  Will they come to you if you get a group together?

    3.  How long have they been teaching?

    4.  What are their areas of expertise? CPR, First Aide, Wilderness Training, etc.?
