    Frequently asked questions

I first will ask what the student needs to work on and what their goals are.  Then i will typically introduce my gameday stretch to the student and then i will throw with the student.  I will evaluate the student's mechanics, form, and his behavior during the throwing program.  And near the end of the lesson, i will give personal advice on what i recommend the student should do regularly (if the student becomes a regular).  I will also be doing my best to make it as fun as possible.

I have been a pitcher since i was 9 years old.  I have recieved training from multiple professionals that have made it through the professional level, even including the Major League level for some.  In the past 3 years, i have been exposed to a very professional baseball staff while have been with the Pittsburgh Pirates and i have absorbed a tremendous amount that i love to share with my new students.

During the time i am not playing in the minor leagues, i love to help out my brothers' select teams and i will coach during some of their games.  I made mound visits and gave advice to young kids.  I realized that i love to help other players advance in their game and so i started doing lessons.

I advise to be very careful and selective when choosing certain teachers.  The student needs a mentor/teacher to help them advance the student's way, not necessarily the teacher's way.  This is what i call 'cookie cutting'.  Teachers who 'cookie cut' tell the student to do things that ended up working for the teacher in the past, but just because it worked for the teacher doesn't mean it will necessarily work for the student.  I will help the student experiment with different forms or mentalities to see which one works best for him.
