About

My name is Jefforn James aka Coach Jeff, founder of Full Circle Basketball. My journey with the game of basketball is coming Full Circle. From learning the fundamentals as a young player to now coaching and developing athletes to reach their highest potential.

I believe basketball is more than just a sport. It’s a tool that teaches discipline, confidence, leadership, and resilience. My training focuses on helping athletes not only improve their skills but also grow in mindset and understanding of the game.

What It’s Like to Train With Me

Training sessions are focused, structured, and designed around each athlete’s individual needs. Players work on core fundamentals like ball handling, shooting, footwork, defense, and basketball IQ while learning how those skills translate into real game situations.

Whether an athlete is just starting their basketball journey or preparing for competitive play, my goal is to help them build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game.

At Full Circle Basketball, development happens on and off the court.

Frequently asked questions

Every new athlete starts with a short evaluation so I can understand their skill level, strengths, and areas that need improvement. From there, I design training sessions that focus on fundamentals, basketball IQ, footwork, and confidence. Each session builds on the previous one so players continue to improve week after week. My goal is not just to run drills but to help athletes understand the game and develop discipline and consistency.

Basketball has been a major part of my life since I was young. Over time I developed a passion not just for playing but for helping others improve. That passion led me to start Full Circle Basketball TX, where I now focus on developing athletes both on and off the court. My mission is to help young players build confidence, discipline, and a deeper understanding of the game.
I work with beginner, intermediate, and advanced youth athletes, typically ages 8–18. Some players are learning the fundamentals for the first time, while others are preparing for school teams or competitive play. Each athlete receives training tailored to their current level and goals.
One of my favorite moments was seeing a young athlete who struggled with confidence finally start trusting their skills during games. After several weeks of focused training on fundamentals and decision-making, the improvement was clear. Moments like that remind me why I coach and why development matters.
Look for a coach who focuses on development, not just drills. A good trainer should help players understand why they are doing certain movements and how those skills translate to real game situations. Consistency, patience, and the right mindset are key to improving in basketball.
It helps to think about the athlete’s goals. Are they trying to improve fundamentals, prepare for school tryouts, build confidence, or take their game to a higher level? Knowing the goal helps the coach design a training plan that delivers the best results.
