my name is Jaron Porter ; I have played bass and piano for over 12 years professionally and have skills in multiple genres; along side my BA in music from Texas Wesleyan University!
I believe my teaching system is special because I teach according to what the students interest are ; and i’m always getting better and learning more things to better my knowledge and help students.
I love to play ,teach and share my gifts with others!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First ,I would like to converse with you and get a feel for your goals and musical interest , so that I can find a way to modify my teaching to fit your goals; making sure the process is fun and inspiring for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors Degree in music performance from Texas Wesleyan University ,currently seeking a Masters in Music I have played bass over 15 years , I have a lot of experience professionaly, played alongside Bishop Td Jakes , Gospel Artist Kathy Taylor and Sunday Best winner Crystal Aikin.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes my lessons are cheapest when billed monthly
Individual lessons are $45 weekly for 1 hour, but when billed monthly for a first time student each month with a 3 month or 6 month commitment , the first week lesson is free the first month but must be prepaid.
How did you get started teaching?
Different people at engagements I played at asked did I give lessons and the rest is history.
What types of students have you worked with?
Young,and older students, in college and gradscbool age.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire a teacher who meets you were you are and that's always learning with you. Also speaks positively.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Their goals for picking up and instrument ,even if it's a hobby.
