Hello; Let me introduce myself. My name is Barbara Campbell, an Art and Crafts Instructor interested in serving Home School Students by appointment; allowing me to serve and share my knowledge and experience with youth one on one or in groups of 3 to 10 youth.

My experience includes working with children as a Substitute in Sweetwater, Texas during 2002 and 2003; assuming responsibility for approximately 30 students per day as needed.

Prior to this I was responsible for 150 youth divided between 5 after school activity groups as a Team Leader for the Girl Scouts USA of Rancho Cordova, in the Whiz Kid Program in California during 2000 and 2001.

I worked as a Home Care Attendant at the end of 2001 when I fractured my ankle.

I have been creating arts and crafts, while self learning informally for 50 years. With former training as a Certified Nurse Assistant with First Aid and CPR training, as well as Health and Human Behavior, your children will be safe with me during creative painting, crafting, and constructing.

Experience:

*Work experience as a Home Health Care Assistant and as a Certified Nurse Assistant 2001 ended due to an injury.

*Experience as a Volunteer Activity Assistant in a Senior Care Home, planning and implementing group activities for residents.

*Responsible for up to 50 youth daily as Girl Scout/ Whiz Kid Team Leader, a paid position, included planning activities and engaging youth age 5 to age 12 with enthusiastic fun instruction and an eye on safety.

*Supervising a staff of 4- 5 assistants at 5 locations.

*Girl Scout/ Whiz Kid projects included creative writing, paper crafts, card making, designing, building creative 3D miniature bridges, creating simple paintings, drawings, scaling art, creating various paper crafts, candle making while camping, and more, Creating science projects sponsored by Intel LLC for the Whiz Kid Program like the creatively constructed bridges.

*A qualified instructor and leader in Beginner and Intermediate Art and Crafts with the training and experience to keep youth safe and protected during lesson times.

*Supplies provided for lessons as part of an affordable session fee.

*Green projects using Creative Recycling and Upcycling included

*Hands on instruction with written and video instructions will be provided as well as verbal guidance.

*3 openings available for individual acrylic or mixed media instruction.

*3 openings available for individual crafts instruction

*Group Lessons in Paper Crafts, Painting, Creativity Crafting with various mediums, Beginning Crochet and Beginning Needlework available for 1 fun group of 3 to 6 youth. Group Sessions are 3 hour per weekend by appointment only. Minimum 3 participants maximum 10.

*Experienced in Risk and Safety Management.

*Experienced with acrylic and familiar with water color paintng.

*50 years spent painting, crafting, and sharing knowledge.

*Safe, knowledgeable instruction.

* Students need a smock, apron, or old oversized shirt

*Call if something will prevents your student's attendance or on time presence.

*Call if you will be late to pick student up. After 30 minutes I will charge $25 every 30 minutes of delayed pickup.

* Let's meet first just to get to know each other. Legal guardian and student expected to arrive together for a 30 minute initial visit.

    Frequently asked questions

    1st scheduled meetings begin April 15th. First meeting consists of introductions, discussion, and planning the type of lessons and scheduling lessons as well as signing consent forms and agreements with the legal adult guardian(s) present.

    Anyone who might pick up the child must be on a list presented by a parent and know the password selected by the parent.

    I accept person's of any age for individual instruction and do not discriminate against any group.

    *Sessions are 1.5 hours.

    * student is expected to help  set up and clean up, about 10 minutes for each.

    *Instruction is for approximately 1 hour 

    *Most supplies are provided.

    Art and craft students will work with nontoxic water based paint.

    Art and craft students require 8x10 canvas paint panels available at most local Walmarts, Joann's, Michaels, even Dollar Tree sometimes carries them.

    Students provide an inexpensive set of acrylic or water color brushes.

    Students need an  inexpensive smock or oversized tshirt. 

    Fee is $20 per lesson for  each 1.5 to 2 hour session. 

    There is no charge for the Introductory Sign up 

    For students in the Sewing, Needlework, or Crochet Basics I will share a supply list or you may pay $5 extra for me to provide the threads or yarns, fabric, and hoops

    Every lesson is make and take.

    Same legal guardian must pickup that dropped off youth within a 2 hour window from beginning to end.  There will be a $10 sitting fee charged for every half hour beyond the 2 hours so please be on time. If your youth are walking home I must have note of that in the registration paperwork.

    Lessons take place at a crafting table or an outdoor table. Some painting will be done outside 

    Please make sure your student has their inhalers, snacks, and that any medications required are taken before arrival.
